Our Program
Educate New Mexico is currently awarding scholarships to children entering grades K–12.

Scholarships are worth $1,000 a year for students in grades K–6 and $1,500 a year of grades 7–12. Educate New Mexico meets students' families half-way in paying the cost of a quality public, private, or parochial education. There are no academic requirements, but students winning awards must then be accepted by a private or religious school and be able to pay the balance of any tuition and fees not covered by the grants. There is no restriction regarding the school selected by the parents — public and non-public schools are eligible.

The program is non-discriminatory with regard to race, educational achievement, geography and in all other respects. Students and their families are free to use the scholarships the school of their choice.

Educate New Mexico is modeled after other successful privately funded scholarship programs in Indianapolis, San Antonio, Los Angeles and others. In those cities today, thousands of young people are attending schools chosen for their value to the individual students, not dictated by geography or income level.

Today, scores of cities and states are in the process of implementing similar programs. Children's Scholarship Fund, a national support organization for private scholarships, is providing financial and other assistance New Mexico and several other states and cities.

You are eligible for an Educate New Mexico scholarship if:
   . You live in New Mexico;
   . Your child or children will be entering grades K–12 in the fall;
   . You are able to pay the balance of school tuition and fees not covered
      by the Educate New Mexico scholarship; and
   . Your family income does not exceed the Income Limits Table.
