.:  What this is all about

This site is for kids. And, yes, even if you're in high school, you are still referred to as a kid. That's OK, though…it's better than being old, right? Who wants to be old?

Anyway, this mini-site is for you. Find links to help you out with those tough homework assignments, find inspiration for your next report, look up strange words in an online dictionary — basically, get smarter — in the Homework Help section.

After (stress the word "after") you finish your homework, feel free to unwind with a few games and puzzles. Actually, there are more than a few, but that's to give you variety — not so that you can stay up all night bathed in the glow of your monitor, staring endlessly into that photon-emitting device until your eyes water, clicking away with your index finger until it cramps up, and you deprive your body of the sleep it so desperately needs in order for your brain to get smarter. Which these activities in the Fun & Games section just might do. Make you smarter, that is…

When your eyes get tired of staring at all the color in those games, go lay on the sofa and stare at some black and white. No...not the channel on your TV that plays all those old movies. Reading. As in "read a book." Not only are books fun, but they'll help you get smarter. Check out the good suggestions in the Stuff to Read section.

And when you get bed sores from all that reading you're doing, then it's time to get up and get going! There are so many great things to do around town, from bookstores to museums, from hiking the foothills of the Sandias to art workshops and the zoo. They're all fun, and...are you ready?...you might get smarter, too.

Get smarter. That seems to be the recurring theme here. That's because there's no substitute for knowledge. You live in a big, exciting world — learn all you can about it so you can get the most out of it. And this site is here to prove that learning can be fun.

Want to help us? You can do three things:
1) Use this site! Bookmark it. Come back regularly.
2) Spread the word! Tell your friends about it.
3) Send us your suggestions! That's right…we want to hear from you. Let us know about your favorite helpful or fun sites. Let us know what books you've enjoyed reading, and what things you like to do when you're not in school. Just fill out the form below. Your e-mail address is optional.

[Editor's Note:]
Sorry! Sorry! A million apologies! The form was never set up to do what it was supposed to do. How frustrating that must have been...
Well, now it's working, so fill it out and send away! (Sorry!)
